Tadas Vinciatis. Feel Free to Live

With a strong belief that the city space is a suitable setting for emancipation and participation of the most diverse groups of citizens, KRAK organized a painting of mural by the Lithuanian artist Tadas Vinciatis named Feel Free to Live. Thematically, the mural depicts social diversity, understanding and tolerance in a simple and almost pictorial language. It is a representation of a man as an individual - an image of his relationship with himself, with other people and the environment. The mural shows dozens of men and women, children and adults, musicians, athletes, painters and others, who are casually performing their activities. The mural discusses man's freedom and desire to remain independent and without restrictions.

The mural is painted on the west wall of a residential building at Bosanska Street, no.15, in the very city center. Its access sequence goes beyond the immediate experience from the nearby parking lot and corresponds perfectly with pedestrians and cyclists who head from the direction of Ozimice I towards the footbridge which leads to the city center. Due to its location and dimensions (16 x 10 m), the painting by the Lithuanian artist Tadas Vinciatis is a monument to individual freedom and tolerance in an environment such as Bihać. At the same time, this mural is a pledge to the conviction that coexistence and mutual understanding are the starting point for a happy life in the city - an environment in which individuals of the most diverse profiles live, collaborate, create, shape and act.

Feel Free to Live is the second mural planned and organized by KRAK Center which, with its ambitious approach, succeeds in changing the visual perception of the cityscape, asserting itself as a new hub of urban life. The mural was painted in the period from September 6 to 20, 2023, with the approval of the tenants of the building at Bosanska 15. The work process was accompanied by interaction with the neighborhood and city passers-by. Neighborhood parties and gatherings, as well as several music performances, were held on the sidelines of the creation of the mural.

Tadas Vincaitis lives and works in Kaunas, Lithuania. He studied architecture at the Academy of Arts in Vilnius. Since 2005, he has participated in group exhibitions in Klaipeda, Vilnius, Kaunas. He is one of the pioneers of graffiti art in Lithuania.

The creation of this mural was organized by KRAK Center for Contemporary Culture with the financial support of Bihac City Administration, IPSIA, Job Step and Bihać Cultural Center.
