KRAK Radio
Recognizing the importance of radio as both an informative medium and a form of artistic expression, the KRAK Center, led by radio editor Mirza Šišić, has launched its own radio program. KRAK Radio aims to enhance media communication with the community and create a new platform for documenting its program content. The first episode, titled Music and Connecting, is part of a series dedicated to music and presenting musicians and artists who have collaborated with KRAK over the past three years. KRAK’s sound design, positioned between aesthetics and socio-cultural reception, and its radiophonic broadcasting, embody the center’s vision of telling its own story while reflecting the environment in which it operates.
In addition to on-demand content, KRAK Radio plans to establish a radio platform for dialogue, learning, and exchange through occasional live broadcasts. This initiative aims to encompass a wide spectrum of radio culture – from carefully planned, editorially curated programming to experimental and spontaneous broadcasts. Through this approach, the radio becomes a medium of participation, affirmation, and new forms of social interaction.
KRAK Radio is conceived as an independent voice on the cultural scene within its community, striving to contribute to shaping the media landscape. It envisions fostering a discourse on art and social engagement that carries a mission of education and emancipation. Ideologically, KRAK Radio is positioned as an alternative electronic medium, aligned with the spirit of independent radio projects like Radio Alhara (Bethlehem, Palestine) and Radio is a Foreign Country (New Orleans, USA).
At this stage, KRAK Radio’s content is available exclusively in Bosnian. Contributors to the production of the first episode include Mirza Šišić, Adela Alagić Đorđević, Mehmed Mahmutović, Irfan Hošić, Maša Šišić-Halilović and Adnan Suljkanović. The production of KRAK Radio is supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Government of the Una-Sana Canton.
