KRAK Magazine at Manifesto
On Saturday, December 17, 2022, KRAK Magazine was presented at the recently opened Manifesto Gallery in Sarajevo. The presentation was shaped through a conversation between Manifesto curator Adna Muslija and Magazine editor Mehmed Mahmutović and producer Irfan Hošić. The gallery was full of interested people and the conversation underlined the importance of design, art and creativity as tools of emancipation discourse in the cultural context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
While moderating the conversation, Adna Muslija emphasized the importance of independent action on the artistic and cultural scene in the country, and Manifesto Gallery seemed an ideal place for this story, due to its position in designing, launching and opening a new space for contemporary practices. Much more than that, the opening of the Manifesto Gallery just a day earlier, through the temporary transformation of Despićeva Street into a pedestrian zone, is imposed as a conscious political act of participation in the shaping of urban reality in Sarajevo. The presentation of KRAK Magazine in the Manifesto, with the topics raised and the energy that accumulated that night, indicates the ideological and conceptual kinship between KRAK and the Manifesto.
After the discursive program and conversation which lasted about 90 minutes, Manifesto turned into a party zone with the sounds of DJ Six Beats & RYO/Ajdin. The eloquent visual language of KRAK Magazine, signed by designer Adnan Suljkanović, occupied the space of the Gallery, and the rhythmic beat served as its time staging.
